186 – Giggin Fer Slugs

186 – Giggin Fer Slugs

Hey, what’s this? What happened to Cool Cat and co?  What about the Council of Cool? Will it revoke Cool Cat’s Cool License?  Well, we’ll see soon enough.  You know how a lot of sit coms have the A plot and the B plot going on simultaneously? It’s like that.  So this bit where Melvin and Cloey are forced by circumstances to take up residence with Wilbur and Magnolia is like the B plot to Cool Cat’s A plot.  Also, I really felt like drawing some hillbillies.  Also, loyal reader Skoon requested some. So there ya go!

In other news, check out Guttersnipe! There’s actually a new strip today, just for you kids! Because I love you.

    One of Cloey’s “Not so proud”-memories?

  2. agouti-rex says:

    We all have a few skeletons in our closets!

  3. Angry Man says:

    Gastropods, natures candy! Gimme some buttah!

  4. CookieSkoon says:

    Just please don’t forget to credit me for Pearl when she shows up! XD

    Also I think those slugs are radioactive! Did Magnolia give them any of her special brews?

  5. Agouti-Rex says:

    @Angryman: They’re like naturally occuring gummis!

    @CookieSkoon: Don’t worry, I won’t make that mistake twice XD

    A few points:

    A) Yay, we get to see these guys again! This webcomic much like a twisted version of Animaniacs. There’s the main castmembers, and then the supporting characters that all have their own stories, which may or may not have absolutely anything to do with the main. I want to see what happens to CC and ‘Gnolly (my clever short for “Magnolia”), and yet I’m glad to see these folks again, too.

    B) Finally managed to read through Guttersnipe. Also great stuff, just as twisted, and also freaking hilarious. I love the drab, dustbowl hues of that one compared to the bright, crazy colors of Murry Purry.

    C, D, E, . . .) Observations on this strip. Mags and Wilbur live together? Are they a thing? That’s some nightmare fuel, right there. Maggie’s always-showing thong is constantly amusing. What happened to cause Melvin and Cloey to lose their home? It would seem that the only thing that changed as Cloey aged is that she lost her braces, and her legs got slightly less stumpy!

    @Mr. Casual

    You should buy his comic, Armageddon sex party! :D

    You will then know more about Maggy and Wilbur than you ever wanted to. XD

  8. Mr. Casual says:

    Erf. Meant Mercedes instead of Magnolia that first time. Typing too fast for my own brain. :D Hmm, need a different nickname, then. “Mercy”?

    Still, looking at Mags, I still think “‘Gnolly” applies. All scraggly and snaggle-toothed.

    @CookieSkoon: There are things to buy? I am interested, though if what you say is true, I’m leery of the Lovecraft-potential. “Things one was not meant to know”, etc.

    lols slug shucking

  10. Agouti-Rex says:

    @ Mr Casual: haha, thanks for all the kind words! I appreciate it and I’m glad to hear that you enjoy the comics! C: I never thought about that Animaniacs comparison, but I guess it works now that I think about it.

    Wilbur and Magnolia are a couple, though I think they have an open relationship. Melvin and Cloey missed a down payment on their home due to the market downturn and the bank took it away. It’s torn from the head lines, because our great American tragedy is just so much grist for the comic mill as far as I’m concerned :/ And, yeah, there is a short comic involving Wilbur and magnolia that can be purchased for a dollar, but I have no clue where to find it anymore… I don’t know if it’s even still up in the store anymore? In any case, though, you should save your money. Because there’s soon going to be a much BETTER comic available for purchase. I’ll keep you posted!

    @Cookieskoon: It’s like looking into the abyss.

    @Kyle: It’s like corn shucking, only with slugs.

  11. CookieSkoon says:

    It’s still in the store. Lowered the price to a dollar eh?

  12. Agouti-Rex says:

    Yeah, that’s the question.

  13. zarpaulus says:

    Multiple plots eh?

    Well, S.S.D.D. has managed to keep at least four storylines in two different centuries going for the last five years, so you might as well give it a shot.

  14. Octopusrave says:

    OH lord, I thought they were a couple. Now my fearful suspicions are confirmed ;-;
    Anyway, nice to see the gang again.

  15. Agouti-Rex says:

    @Zarpaulus: What’s SSDD?

    @Octopustave: Wait till you see their kids…

  16. zarpaulus says:
    It’s one of the longer running furry comics, was originally about the antics of a psychotic anarchist rabbit, two horny foxes, and a stoner hare who all live in the same house in the middle of nowhere, England. But in 2001 it developed a story about some time travelers from the future trying to prevent the anarchist from taking over half the world (yes, I know that’s an oxymoron).

    Currently it’s more or less alternating between the present day and the distant future.

  17. Agouti-Rex says:

    @Zarpaulus: Oh, wow, I think I remember that strip. Haven’t thought about it in years, that’s crazy to see it’s still around. Weird.

  18. Tzenker says:

    Christ, I haven’t seen that comic in… 10 years, I guess, since I stopped reading prior to any time traveling storyline. I remember them doing a few crossovers with some other comics I read, which seemed ZOMG CRAZY back then.

  19. agouti-rex says:

    Times have changed, haven’t they?
