087 – Giger Counter

Every time I do some parody like this, people seem to think I really hate the thing I’m parodying. So obviously I really hate HR Giger. And the Swiss.

Does it make sense to parody a decade-old video game that no one remembers? Probably not. Next up, more “Oregon Trail” jokes! And also some prize moments from “Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties.” Please don’t make me a nun!

So how bout some other comics?

Pavel Lujardo’s Future Pig is an odd strip that I don’t rightly know how to characterize. It’s a gritty sci fi series about a mercenary space-faring pig that feels like it could be ripped straight from a 1970s issue of Heavy Metal. This is a comic all its own. It might not be to everyone’s taste, but I admire its uncompromising commitment to its own vision.

Also, I got some nifty new fanart over the weekend from Tzologeist, King-Cheetah and Auron. Check it out!

Also, new story over at Witchprickers. You might like it!

“Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties” is really wicked. I mean, Jesus, game makes no sense… but thats what makes it hilarious :)

like where this is going so far even though I don’t know the game. (lol way to go me)

I like how you drew their bedroom.

Thanks! I hope that the next strips are still amusing even if you don’t know the game.

If you hate Giger and the Swiss, you must also hate this old video game and “The Twilight Zone” as well. You fiend!

Right. I suppose people oftentimes forget that parodies can be made because one likes something rather than hate it. Or it could be your presentation is throwing them off. Or maybe Pluto is misaligned with the asteroid Ceres. Who knows?

In other news, I learn something new thanks to this comic, namely H.R.Giger.

you’ve never heard of H.R. Giger? I’m surprised!

… funny enough I just unearthed my copy of Dark Seed II the other day.

I just started reading you comic the other day and have been reading it unrelentingly since. Loving your art style and the range of characters, kinda glad I missed it all this time as it gives me lots of reading material to catch up on it with. :)

Aw, thanks! I am glad it amuses C:

Also, the more I think about it, the more the premise of Dark Seed seems like a proto Silent Hill.
